Amazon – Marketplace

...with many opportunities and challenges for retailers

Amazon – Marketplace

As one of the leading and most popular marketplaces in Europe, the Internet marketplace Amazon is the ideal sales platform for manufacturers and online retailers. You increase your reach in online retail, tap into new countries and target groups, and expand your multichannel strategy. The marketplace offers merchants several ways to sell products.

With Amazon Seller Central you sell as a merchant under your name directly on the marketplace. You are responsible for listing and selling your products and have control over product listings and prices.

With Vendor Central, on the other hand, you act as a supplier and sell your goods in bulk directly to Amazon. In this case, Amazon handles the promotion, shipping and customer service of your products. Merchants who sell through Vendor Central are also called "1-p seller" or "a first-party seller".

The professional and automated Amazon marketplace connection of the existing systems, such as online store or merchandise management to Amazon is a major challenge for most store operators. These connections can be very complex and cost-intensive.
