Ideas, thoughts, experiences and opinions will be heard here. With this format we do not only want to connect people with each other, but also to answer questions. But also presentations by customers or partners explaining different application examples have a fixed place in Synesty Talks, because topics are a dime a dozen. If you would like to contribute here, just (write to us).

In our last consultation Gustav Friedeheim from SLV GmbH explained to us how he creates XML files with Synesty.

What is an XML file?

An XML file counts is a markup language and is used for data exchange in interfaces. Like a JSON file, an XML file is a text-based data format and can be displayed in a text editor without any problems. XML is an abbreviation and stands here for “Extensible Markup Language”.

How is an XML file structured?

The structure of an XML can be understood like a tree structure. The trick of an XML file is its hierarchy and the flexible marking of the contained data. An XML-compliant document consists of various elements and attributes.

When to use an XML file?

An XML file is used whenever a structured storage or transfer of data is necessary. XML files are often used for the output of product data.
