Boring is good – the underestimated life cycle of low-code automation

Low-code and AI now make it easier than ever to develop applications and automations quickly. But the faster new solutions are created, the more important a question becomes – one that is often overlooked at go-live:
What actually happens afterwards?
After all, a small automation can, over time, become a key component of a business process. Requirements change, systems evolve, and suddenly it’s no longer just about how quickly something can be built, but how reliable, traceable and manageable it remains in the long term.
This is precisely what our talk ‘Boring is good – The underestimated lifecycle of low-code automations’ at the German Low Code Day 2026 is all about.
In the presentation, we therefore look not only at creating automations, but above all at what comes afterwards: operations, governance, permissions, traceability, changes and recovery. Using concrete real-world examples, we’ll demonstrate how a flow built quickly can become a permanently reliable infrastructure. After all, the true value of automation isn’t revealed at go-live, but in day-to-day operations – that is, when processes run reliably, changes remain under control, and you can trace what has happened at any time.
On Thursday, 24 September 2026 at 11.40 am, we’ll be in Hanover for the 4th German Low Code Day to share our practical experience, offer food for thought and take a joint look at why the lifecycle of low-code automation deserves special attention, particularly today.
We look forward to exchanging ideas with users, decision-makers and experts in the fields of low-code, AI and modern application development.
See you in Hanover.
